Willow Handbag Weaving Workshop

Join me and learn the ancient heritage craft of willow weaving in the magnificent surroundings of Castle Coole in a cosy room in the Grand Yard.

Create your own stylish and sustainable willow handbag in this hands-on weaving workshop. Using natural willow and traditional basketry techniques, participants will learn how to weave a beautiful and functional handbag featuring a distinctive Catalan-style base and finished with leather straps.

Throughout the day, you will be guided through the process of constructing the base, shaping the sides, and weaving a strong, elegant structure suitable for everyday use. The addition of leather or faux leather straps (your choice) gives the finished piece a contemporary look while retaining the beauty and craftsmanship of traditional willow work.

Suitable for beginners and those with weaving experience, this workshop offers an opportunity to develop practical basketry skills, explore traditional weaving techniques, and create a unique handmade handbag to take home and enjoy.

Tea, Coffee and Biscuits are available throughout the day and included in the cost of the workshop.
